The sequence in the bar is lovely. So interesting to see how deftly Chaplin arranges the space for the limits of the stationary camera, jumping back and forth between inside and outside the bar, and establishing foreground and background during the bits outside. Also, how much the conventions of makeup are still those of stage production - some of those eyebrows should get their own spot in the billing!
